What paperwork do I need to
donate my vehicle in Connecticut?
In most cases we need the
title to the vehicle. But, if you do not have title papers you
can apply for a replacement title before donating your vehicle.

What types of vehicles do not
require a title in Connecticut?
The following types of vehicles
do NOT require a title in Connecticut: Any vehicle manufactured
before 1981. Boats with motors or boats greater than 19.5 feet
without motor. Trailer titles are needed if the trailer is
greater than 3000 lb. Vehicles with "Salvage" stamped on their
titles require a damage/repair estimate. Such an estimate
(break-down of needed repairs) can usually be obtained from the
insurance company who stamped the title, "Salvage".
Where do I sign the title before
donating my car in Connecticut?

You must sign the reverse side of
the Certificate of Title to the organization to which you are
donating the vehicle. If you are not transferring your
registration and plates to another vehicle, then you must turn
them in to your local motor vehicle branch office.
