Everything You Need to Know

We want to make your donation as simple and rewarding as possible. Here are answers to the most common questions about donating your vehicle.

Tax Benefits

Your Donation May Qualify for a Tax Deduction

Because Family Lifelines is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your vehicle donation may qualify for a charitable tax deduction under IRS guidelines.

Vehicles Valued at $500 or Less

If your vehicle is valued at $500 or less, you may be eligible to deduct its fair market value, subject to applicable IRS regulations.

Vehicles That Sell for More Than $500

If your donated vehicle sells for more than $500, your tax receipt will reflect the vehicle's actual selling price — which becomes your deductible amount.

Tax Documentation Provided

We will provide the appropriate IRS tax documentation following the sale of your vehicle. You will receive everything you need to claim your deduction.

Tax laws vary by individual situation. We recommend consulting a qualified tax advisor for guidance specific to your circumstances.
